RELATIONSHIPS, SEPARATIONS & ATTACHMENT
The ways we seek closeness can also be the places where we feel most exposed.
Relationships can bring connection, tenderness and belonging, but they can also stir fear, uncertainty, conflict or loss. You may be trying to understand a current relationship, recover from a separation, or make sense of a pattern that seems to return with different people.
Individual therapy offers space to understand what happens for you in relationships—what you reach for, what you protect yourself from, and what becomes difficult to express or ask for. We do not need to decide in advance who is right or what you should do next.

CLOSENESS AND DISTANCE
The ways we protect ourselves from hurt can also shape how we approach trust, conflict and intimacy.

WHAT MAY BE HAPPENING
A relationship difficulty may involve more than the immediate disagreement.
An argument, silence or separation can carry meanings shaped by earlier experiences. Distance may feel like rejection, a request may feel like criticism, or conflict may create fear that the relationship itself is at risk.
Therapy can help you notice these patterns, understand what they may be protecting and consider what you need now. The focus is not on diagnosing the other person or prescribing whether you should stay, leave or reconcile. It is on helping you understand your own position clearly enough to make choices.
YOU MAY BE HERE BECAUSE
- A separation or change has left you grieving, unsettled or unsure how to move forward.
- The same conflict, uncertainty or relationship pattern seems to return.
- You find it difficult to express a need, set a boundary or trust your own response.
- You are trying to understand what you want from a relationship now.
A PLACE TO BEGIN
We can begin with the relationship or situation that feels most present.
During an initial consultation, you can briefly tell me what is bringing you to therapy and what you hope may become clearer. We can then consider whether working together would be useful.
